The LED Face Mask is safe for all skin tones. The IPL device, however, is not suitable for very dark skin tones or recently tanned skin due to the way IPL technology works.

Yes. You can safely incorporate both devices into your routine—use the IPL for long-term hair reduction and the LED mask for skincare concerns like acne and aging. Avoid using both on the same area within 24 hours to prevent irritation.

Is the Skintekie LED Face Mask safe to use at home?
Yes. The Skintekie LED Face Mask uses non-thermal light energy, which means it does not generate heat that can burn or damage the skin. It has received FDA 510(k) clearance, confirming it has been reviewed as a light therapy device suitable for at-home use. LED light therapy is considered safe for all skin tones because it does not target melanin the way laser or IPL devices do. However, if you are pregnant, taking photosensitizing medications, or have active skin infections, consult a healthcare professional before use. During blue light sessions, protective eyewear is recommended to avoid eye discomfort.
What should I do immediately after using an LED light therapy mask?
After an LED session, your skin is warm and more receptive to skincare products. This is the ideal time to apply hydrating and restorative products. Apply a hyaluronic acid serum first to lock in moisture, followed by a peptide or niacinamide serum if targeting fine lines or uneven tone. Follow with a moisturizer to seal everything in. Avoid applying retinol, vitamin C, or AHA/BHA exfoliants immediately after a session, as these active ingredients combined with the increased skin activity from LED therapy may cause sensitivity. If using the mask in the morning, always finish with SPF 30 or higher sunscreen.
Can I use the LED mask while doing other things?
Yes. The Skintekie LED Face Mask is wireless and hands-free, which means you can multitask during your session. Many users wear the mask while reading, watching TV, meditating, doing light housework, or even working at a desk. Sessions are typically 10 to 20 minutes depending on the light mode selected. The mask is lightweight and designed to stay in place during normal activity. You do not need to hold it or stay in a specific position for it to work effectively.

Salon IPL treatments and the Skintekie IPL device use the same core technology — Intense Pulsed Light. The main differences are cost, convenience, and frequency. Professional sessions typically cost $100 to $300 per visit, with 6 to 12 sessions recommended, totaling $600 to $3,600 or more. The Skintekie device is a one-time purchase with a 500,000 flash lifespan — enough for years of treatments covering multiple body areas. You can treat on your own schedule at home without booking appointments. Professional devices may be higher-powered, but at-home devices deliver comparable results with consistent weekly use. How many flashes does the Skintekie IPL device have and how long will it last?
The Skintekie IPL Hair Removal Device has a 500,000 flash lifespan. To put that in perspective: a typical full-leg treatment uses approximately 300 to 400 flashes. A full session covering legs, underarms, and bikini line uses roughly 600 to 800 flashes. At weekly sessions, 500,000 flashes provides several years of regular treatments without needing replacement cartridges, lamp refills, or additional purchases.
